Emigrant problem

Hi, I have a really important problem. I am from Ukraine but I live in Poland for four months. The validity of my visa ends next month. I must get married with a polish man or go back to my country. I prefer to stay in Poland because I have a good work here. I don’t want to come back to Ukraine because getting a visa is very difficult. Three months ago I met a Pole who wants to be my husband but he is a Catholic and I am an orthodox. He doesn’t want to his wife be of another faith. Have I to agree to change their faith? What do you think I should do? Lots of love.

:)

Dear Martyna,

How are you? Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you.

Recently I had two months of holidays. In July I went to Paris. The trip lasted 8 days. I saw Eiffel Tour, Notre Dame and I was swimming by a ship. I visited Louvre and I saw Mona Lisa. I liked walking along Elise-Field the most. I didn’t like Disneyland the most because I was waiting in really long lines. In Paris I met a really handsome Spain man who asked me and my friend about the way in one of the museum.

I hope that you will visit me soon. You can go to Poland and stay with me. Do drop me a line soon.

Take care,

Olka.

LEON TROTSKY

Leon Trotsky (7 November 1879 – 21 August 1940),  was a Bolshevik revolutionary and Marxist theorist. Trotsky was one of the leaders of the Russian October Revolution, second only to Vladimir Lenin. During the early days of the Soviet Union, he served first as People’s Commissar for Foreign Affairs.

After leading a failed struggle of the Left Opposition against the policies and rise of Joseph Stalin in the 1920s and the increasing role of bureaucracy in the Soviet Union, Trotsky was successively removed from power, expelled from the Communist Party, deported from the Soviet Union and assassinated on Stalin’s orders. An early advocate of Red Army intervention against European fascism, Trotsky also opposed Stalin’s peace agreements with Adolf Hitler in the 1930s.

  • In Mexico in the late 1930s Trotsky meets Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and André Breton who in 1938 writes Pour un art révolutionnaire indépendant (For an Independent Revolution in Art) and as the leader of Surrealism Breton befriends Trotsky. After his death in 1940 Breton denounces Trotsky for not successfully bringing forth the Revolution promised in Breton’s manifesto.
  • Trotsky was admired by Mexican muralist Diego Rivera, husband of Frida Kahlo. Rivera twice painted Trotsky’s face as part of a montage of Communist figures, in Communist Unity Panel (1933) .
  • Trotsky is a well regarded political figure within Bolano’s The Savage Detectives.
  • Trotsky is a major character in Robert Bolt’s play State of Revolution, which deals with the Russian Revolution and its aftermath.

After he was exiled and politically marginalised by Stalinism, Trotsky continued to argue for a united front against fascism in Germany and Spain. His articles on the united front represent an important part of his political legacy.

Dear Santa Claus!

Dear Santa Claus,

I am writing to you because Christmas is comming soon. I know that I always can count on you. I am asking you to bring my cousin Dominika a ticket for the Hannah Montana’s concert because this is her dream.

Dominika is 9 years old. She is well-built and tall. Dominika has long blonde hair and blue eyes. In her room there are lots of gadgets with Hannah’s image. She watches serial about Hannah every day. Dominika is very good student. Her favourite subjects are English and mathematics. Dominika is shy. She doesn’t talk very much and she doesn’t like playing in the performances. Dominika is very responsible. She often looks after her younger sisters.

If you bring her this present, I won’t beat with my brothers and I will read more books. I will also play tennis. I count on you!

Love,

Ola.
